Canon Medical Systems Korea said it has equipped Sesonneun Orthopedic Hospital with its high-tech 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device, Vantage Elan.

“The installment of Vantage Elan allows the hospital to get super-precise imaging of the spine and joint, which was only available at general hospitals,” the company said. “Vantage Elan, specializing in imaging the spine, joint, brain, and blood vessel, can secure a magnetic field to obtain an excellent image by strengthening MRI's core technology.”

This is Cannon’s 1.5-T MRI machine, “Vantage Elan,” installed at Sesonneun Orthopedic Hospital in Shinchon, western Seoul.

Cannon said its latest product boasts cost-effectiveness and excellent performance as it features 16-channel flex coil to inspect all musculoskeletal areas with a single coil. It is also armed with a patented listening technology, Pianissimo, to minimize the noise and vibration.

Sesonneun Orthopedic Hospital has recently restarted business after remodeling and renaming the former Segang Orthopedic Hospital, which had operated in Shinchon, western Seoul, for five decades.

Drs. Ahn Young-joon and Moon Chan-sam, who lead the hospital, have developed a system that can diagnose and treat spine and joint based on their rich experience in clinical trials and treatments as orthopedic surgeons for 20 years. Their services range from simple injection therapy to various non-surgical and surgical procedures according to each patient’s symptoms, Canon said in a news release.

"We have a high expectation of the new machine Vantage Elan, in restarting our hospital as the institution specializing in the spine and joint treatment," Ahn said.
