JW Medical said Tuesday that it would market Carestream Health’s image diagnostic equipment in Korea.

Carestream Health is a global medical imaging device manufacturer founded in 2007. The company is a spin-off of Kodak’s medical unit, which is a U.S. company that produces camera-related products.

Under the accord, JW Medical will supply various imaging equipment, such as digital X-rays and computed tomography (CT), to the local market.

Regarding X-ray devices, the company plans to market Carestream’s DRX series -- DRX-Evolution Plus and DRX-Revolution. The series consists of a wide range of selections depending on the treatment environment. According to JW Medical, DRX-Evolution Plus can take high-resolution images of pulmonary disease symptoms by applying technology specialized for chest diagnosis. DRX-Revolution is a portable X-ray imaging equipment with space efficiency and safety.

In the case of CT, the company plans to market OnSight 3D Extremity. This device can closely obtain tomographic images of joints and bone tissue. The device uses a low-dose technology, which provides high-resolution images while minimizing patient exposure.

“The company expects to strengthen its presence in the local imaging market with Carestream’s products,” a company official said. “We plan to increase our market share by actively targeting the needs of the diversified medical fields."
