JW Pharmaceutical said that it has launched Initium, hyaluronic acid filler, in the local market. Initium is composed of a three-state product line -- two bi-phasic products (No. 5, No. 7) and one mono-phasic product (No. 9).

"The No. 5 product with light properties can be used for areas around the eyes and lips, and shallow wrinkles, while the No. 7 product with mild properties can be used for the forehead, cheeks and arms wrinkles," the company said. "The No. 9 product is filler with hard properties and can be used for nose, chin, and deep wrinkles."

A company official said, "Initium is a product that minimizes inflammation-causing and immune-causing substances through the high purity process."

Recently, interests in nose, lips and forehead fillers have increased. As Initium is a product that focuses on safety, patients who are contemplating whether or not they should receive a filler procedure can approach with ease, he added.
