Newsweek reported that the Asan Medical Center topped among 95 local medical institutions in Korea for two years in a row.

According to the weekly news magazine, AMC ranked the first with a score of 97.6 points in 2020. Samsung Medical Center took second place with 94.2 points, followed by Seoul National University Hospital (93.4), Severance Hospital (91.7), and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (91.4).

Statista, a German online statistics portal, collected tens of thousands of medical professionals in selected countries via an online survey from September to November with a trusted insurance provider GeoBlue.

The hospitals ranked from the first to seventh have more than a thousand hospital beds. Ajou University Hospital (AUH), ranked 10th, also has 1,274 beds, and some hospitals ranked below 20, such as Chonnam National University Hospital, Inha University Hospital, and Chungnam National University Hospital, also have more than 1,000 beds.

Eight of the top 10 hospitals are located in Seoul. The other two -- Seoul National University Bundang Hospital and Ajou University Hospital are in Gyeonggi Province.

In the global rankings, only these Korean two hospitals ranked within the top 50 -- Asan Medical Center ranked at the 37th place and Samsung Medical Center, at 42nd. Mayo Clinic in Rochester took first place again.

Cleveland Clinic also defended its second place. Singapore General Hospital saw its ranking fall from third to eighth, and Johns Hopkins Hospital, from fourth to sixth.
