The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said Monday the third Wuhan pneumonia patient visited clinics, lodges and eateries for four days before being confirmed and alienated.

“We have contacted and disinfected the medical institutions, hotels, and some restaurants visited by the patient,” the KCDC said. “However, some eateries handled delivery services only, and do not operate during the holiday season.” The agency added that it plans to follow-up on more restaurants and disinfect them if necessary.

According to the KCDC’s report regarding the movement of the patient daily, on Wednesday, the patient drove in a rental vehicle to visit Glovi plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam, southern Seoul, with an acquaintance. Afterward, the patient ate dinner at a restaurant in the vicinity of the hospital and slept at the Newv Hotel in Gangnam.

On Thursday, the patient took a stroll along the Han River at lunchtime and visited a convenience store -- GS Han River Jamwon #1 branch – before going to eat dinner at a restaurant in the Yeoksam and Daechi-dong area, also in Gangnam.

On Friday morning, the patient revisited the plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam with an acquaintance. In the afternoon, the patient visited a restaurant and a café in Ilsan, a bed town north of Seoul, before going to his mother’s home in the same neighborhood.

On Saturday, the patient did not leave his mother’s house in Ilsan. After showing symptoms, the patient called the KCDC hotline “1339” and was transferred to the nearest state-designated medical institution -- Myongji Hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province -- riding an ambulance.

Experts said that health authorities ought to expand their active surveillance scope far more extensive than new, by even checking the cellphone use of the third patient, to grasp the possibility of secondary infection.
