InBody, a total healthcare company, has released an upgraded fitness band, “InBody Band 2,” which improved body composition analysis with an additional exercise tracking feature, the company said Tuesday.

The company (CEO: Cha Ki-chul차기철) is known for its “InBody Band인바디밴드,” a wearable body composition analyzer unveiled at the Consumer Technology Association tradeshow in 2015 as a way to measure body mass index (BMI) without stepping on the scales.

The new and improved band allows users to access a more sophisticated body composition analysis anytime and anywhere, the company said. Users can now check their fat-to-muscle ratio by just pressing two fingers on the band’s display.

InBody has also added a new feature called “EZTraining” to the mix. The band can now recognize 12 different types of exercise such as squats, lunges, planks, bench press, and deadlifts through a 3-D motion sensor that tracks and records exercise amount. EZTraining also allows users to examine activity volume through its accumulated data upon which they can set up a tailored exercise regime.

InBody Band 2 also boasts a slimmer design, a better fit on the wrist, and a longer battery life of two weeks, company officials said.

Consumers may link the band to an application to store their data and gain explanations for their data, according to the company. Users will also be able to track their heartbeat, analyze their sleeping patterns, and check their activity levels.

“We have introduced InBody Band 2 with the growth of the wearable market, which we have upgraded for consumers who want smart healthcare,” an InBody official said. “We hope that our consumers will be able to analyze their body composition with InBody Band 2 which now recognizes individual exercise movements on top of being able to use the improved in-body examination, all from their wrist.”
