T&R Biofab said Wednesday that it has obtained sales approval from the Philippines government for three of its 3D printing medical device. The three medical devices approved are TnR Mesh, TnR Mesh Plus, and TnR Dental Mesh Plus.

TnR Mesh and TnR Mesh Plus are scaffolding products that regenerate and reconstruct trauma or surgery defects for orbital fracture, bone fragments, and other maxillofacial surfaces.

TnR Mesh uses polycaprolactone (PCL), while TnR Mesh Plus uses PCL and tricalcium phosphate (TCP). All substances are biodegradable material that is easy to shape during operation and has few side effects as it is well absorbed into the body.

TnR Dental Mesh Plus is a dental membrane product with a function of shielding membrane to prevent gums from intruding into an area where periodontal tissues regenerate.

The device also uses PCL and TCP as its main component. Unlike non-absorbent products, it does not require secondary removal surgery after surgery and has high stability such as durability and space retention.

“We will examine various strategies for a successful entry into the regional market,” T&R Biofab CEO Yun Won-soo said. “We also plan to expand our presence in other Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia.”
