NHN Korea Cyber Payment (CEO Park Jun-seok_박준석) has joined hands with 4C Gate (CEO Kim Young-tae_김영태), a digital service solution provider, to provide a one-stop mobile payment service for patients, the company said Wednesday.

This means NHN KCP, an online payment service corporation, is expanding its mobile payment service to the medical field to let patients use the hospital’s mobile application, page, or messenger to make appointments, make intermediate payments, and register for leaving the hospital, among others, it said.

The service will increase patient convenience as well as hospital efficiency, while decreasing administrative costs, a company official said.

The two companies will start distributing their services to five associated hospitals -- Hallym University Medical Center (Dongtan, Chuncheon, Hangang, Gangnam, Pyeongcheon), Cha Fertility Center, Seoul Station Center, and Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, Suwon Hospital.

NHN KCP will also expand its service to around 100 general hospitals nationwide that are using 4C Gate’s platform. 4C Gate provides the hospital administration-based platform such as unmanned data storage system, consultation waiting system and electronic signature system.

“We wish to achieve significant synergies in the hospital payment market by combining NHN KCP’s various experiences with payment solutions with 4C Gate’s technology and networking capabilities,” an NHN KCP official said. “We will make every effort to provide a convenient and safe payment service for both hospitals and patients.”

4C Gate is also launching a pharmacy prepayment service for the issuance and transmission of mobile certificates, and the prevention of no-show patients, a 4C Gate official said.
