Seegene said Friday that it has signed a business agreement with Xi'an Tianlong Science and Technology, a Chinese molecular diagnosis company, to accelerate its expansion into the Chinese market.

Under the agreement, the two companies plan to develop and supply products to check human papillomavirus (HPV) and sexually transmitted infectious disease (STI), which are in high demand in China.

Seegene will develop and supply products compatible with Tianlong Science and Technology, while Tianlong Science and Technology will manufacture, license, sell and market the products.

“Tianlong Science and Technology is a company equipped with all the skills necessary to enter the Chinese market, including equipment, production and distribution networks,” Seegene CEO Chun Jong-yoon said. “Based on such qualities, we have decided to become partners and enter the Chinese market with our differentiated competitiveness.”

Through cooperation with Tianlong Science and Technology, the company will accumulate experience in the Chinese market and quickly enter the Chinese market by developing various products, Chun added.

With its entry into the Chinese market, the company also plans to expand its market share in India, Brazil and Japan.
