Inje University Seoul Paik Hospital said it would begin to use simple mobile payment services such as Alipay and WeChat Pay on Friday.

Patients and visitors will pay medical bills at Inje Hospital with the representative Chinese mobile payment services in addition to other mobile payment methods such as Samsung Pay and L.pay, the hospital said.

Inje University Seoul Paik Hospital introduces Chinese simple mobile pay services Alipay and WeChat to increase the convenience of Chinese tourists and patients.

Mobile pay services such as Alipay and WeChat are used widely in China, with usage exceeding about 80 trillion yuan ($11.9 trillion).

The hospital introduced the pay system considering a large number of Chinese tourists visiting the hospital - located near the shopping district of Myeong-dong that is often crowded by international tourists.

"Inje University Seoul Paik Hospital decided to introduce the payment systems to increase convenience for Chinese customers and respond to the new payment environment," the hospital's president Hong Sung-woo said.

"We particularly considered the fact that Chinese tourists prefer the simple payment method,” he added.
