GE Healthcare said Tuesday that it would officially launch LOGIQ™ E10, its new generation of high-end radiology ultrasound systems, at the upcoming Asian Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology 2018.

The LOGIQ™ E10 integrates various digital technology and capabilities, including advanced algorithms to acquire and reconstruct data faster than before, enabling confident diagnosis with comprehensive tools and concise workflow.

Amid the increasing number of patients, the company expects the LOGIQ E10 will correspond to resolving primary medical tasks while helping to predict challenges facing the medical industry by developing technologies that create detailed images in real-time.

One of the new technologies that will power the machine includes cSound™ Architecture.

The system applies the same technology that powers driverless cars. The advanced GPU hardware technology acquires and reconstructs data in a similar way to an MRI or CT system, increasing data output 48 times and the processing power of previous systems 10 times. cSound™ Architecture is highly functional as it can process an amount of data equivalent to playing two entire DVDs in just one second, in real-time. The system also eliminates the need for focal zones, as the whole image is always in focus throughout the examination.

“Our engineers have come up with an entirely new way to create an image with image formation algorithms that are software-based and allow for further development in the future,” said Brian McEathron, general manager of GE Healthcare General Imaging Ultrasound. “From liver, OB/GYN and breast imaging to musculoskeletal and interventional radiology, ultrasound has the potential to improve patient care dramatically.”

The company is confident that the LOGIQ E10 will lead that transformation, improving imaging for patients from head to toe, no matter their age or size, McEathron added.

GE Healthcare Korea’s CEO was equally enthusiastic about the launch of the new product.
