Medical animations firm HealthBreeze said it signed an agreement with Beijing MEDTIME Technology Development and CMEWINDOW on Monday to supply HealthBreeze’s medical education animations to hospitals in China.

MEDTIME is an online medical education and training firm created by and located at Peking University Health Science Center.

The agreement signing was attended by three parties involving the CEOs of HealthBreeze, Beijing MEDTIME Technology Development, and CMEWINDOW, which acted as the Chinese agent, and its Korean branch Hope Korea.

Three executives hold hands of one another after signing an agreement to foster Korea-China medical education training at MEDTIME headquarters in Beijing Monday. They are, from left, CMEWINDOW’s COO Zhu Chun-yan, HealthBreeze’s CEO Chung He-doo, and Beijing MEDTIME Technology Development’s General Manager Gao Shuping.

Under the contract, professors at Peking University will translate the animations into Chinese. Then the two organizations will supply the animations used to educate patients to clinics and hospitals in China, starting with 20 hospitals affiliated with Peking University’s Medical School.

Domestic medical associations that co-developed the animations will get royalties as an unnamed percentage of revenue earned in China, according to HealthBreeze.

HealthBreeze, formerly known as HealthWave, was founded in 2009 by surgeon turned animation director Chung He-doo. The firm serves to foster communication between the doctor and patient through animations having produced more than 1,300 animations for patient education.

The Seoul-based firm currently supplies its animations to 16 large general hospitals and about 60 small- to medium-sized hospitals in Korea, it said.
