Rayence, a Korean company specializing in digital X-ray imaging solution, said Tuesday that it has held the global market share title for intraoral sensors for the seventh consecutive year.

The company has now produced over 80,000 units of its intraoral sensor since its release in 2006. According to QY Research, a global market research company, the company holds 40 percent of the intraoral sensor market share in 2017.

The equipment is a digital X-ray image detector, which dentists use to diagnose the degree of damage to the patient’s teeth.

The company is the only intraoral sensor manufacturing company in Korea that has focused on the innovation of X-ray detection technology, a key component of X-ray imaging equipment.

In recent years, the company has also released EzSensor Soft, an intraoral sensor that flexes smoothly according to the oral cavity shape, to reduce irritation and the pain caused by other conventional equipment.

The equipment has also been gradually increasing its presence in the market with a 25 percent growth each year. In 2017, the company sold over 17,000 EzSensor Soft units.

The company plans to unveil an upgraded version of EzSensor Soft, called EzSensor HD, to continue its expansion. Also, as the demand for emerging markets such as India in the entry stage of dental digitization increases, the company plans to maintain its global position with differentiated and innovative products.

“Armed with advanced TFT/CMOS-based X-ray detector technology, Rayence has a distinctive competitive edge,” Rayence CEO Kim Tae-woo said. “Based on this, we have developed a strategy in becoming the top supplier in the intraoral sensor device market.”

Based on the company’s achievements in the field of intraoral sensors, it will expand our position as the number one company in the global market with more specialized X-ray detectors, Kim added.
