Philips Korea said Thursday that it has released Prodiva 1.5T, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device equipped with the company’s digital technology.

Prodiva 1.5T

Prodiva 1.5T is a device that simplifies the MRI procedure by providing a setup called Breeze Workflow. The setup consists of a flexible lightweight digital coil system to support fast patient system.

The device also combines the company’s dStream digital broadband technology, which allows the MRI to receive RF signal directly from a microchip embedded in the coil and digitalizes the process. The technology improves the signal to noise ratio, which minimizes signal loss during signal propagation and determines the accuracy of the image, by up to 40 percent.

The equipment also employ’s Philips’ ds-Sense feature, which greatly reduces the MRI exam time by 30 percent and any motion artifacts that cause the image to appear slightly blurry depending on the patient's movements.

The company said it believes the device will provide radiologists with consistent, high-quality images in support of improved patient care.

With the launch of the device, Philips has completed a wide range of digital MRI portfolios ranging from its high-end 3.0T equipment to its new 1.5T equipment.

Philips Korea plans to participate in the Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) 2018, which is set to open its four-day run in COEX, southern Seoul, on March 15, and unveil Prodiva 1.5T CX for the first time in Korea.
