Vetter Pharma, a global contract manufacturing organization (CMO) specializing in prefilled syringes, opened its local branch office in a biological cluster located in Songdo, Incheon, Thursday.

Headquartered in Germany, Vetter offers services that range from clinical manufacturing to commercial supply and packaging solutions. It specializes in aseptic filling and packaging of compounds into syringes, vials, and cartridges.

The opening of the Korean branch comes as part of efforts to strengthen its global footprint in the Asia-Pacific region and to underline the company’s commitment to Korean customers, it said. The company currently has operations in Singapore and Japan and has been active in the Korean market for years, it added.

Vetter said it would work to support its existing Korean businesses by helping them meet stringent development, manufacturing and packaging requirements of their injectable drugs.

“Today is yet another milestone for our company. This new office will allow us to directly serve both local and global companies with interests in the Korean market,” Vetter Managing Director Peter Soelkner said. “We are certain that our market presence and activities in this market will serve as an additional base and contribution for Vetter’s future global organic growth.”
