Turning the Land Used for US Army into a HospitalEulji Foundation builds up a hospital and a university in Uijeongbu

A hospital and a university will be built up in the land returned by US Armed Forces.

Eulji Founation said it will build up a hospital and university campus in Geumo-dong, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do where US Armed Forces in Korea was located. It is the first time to invest massive amounts of private capital worth of 650billion won.

The hospital that will be constructed in Camp Essayous site (120thousand ㎡) will be a 15-story building with 5 basement levels and have 1,000 rooms, the largest size in the northern part of Gyeonggi-do. And parking lots with about 1,200 parking spaces, an emergency center, and an outpatient building will be built. The building will consist of a center and medical office to satisfy locals who suffer from chronic diseases. Besides these, it will consist of ▲ women center ▲ brain nerve center ▲ musculoskeletal center ▲ digestive center ▲ endocrine center ▲ cardiovascular center and ▲ in-virtro fertilization center. And there will be various high tech devices in diagnostic radiology department, department of nuclear medicine, and radiation oncology department.

Eulji Foundation will develop Uijeongbu campus as a mecca of medical services and education by making a nursing college, clinical pathology, and a graduate school, public health graduate school and graduate school of clinical nursing science. It plans to make welfare facilities such as dormitory for employees, a building for clinical professors, a daycare center and convenience facilities.

Eulji Founation held a ground-breaking ceremony on the Feb. 17 to build up the hospital and the campus. The constructions of the hospital and the campus may be completed on October 2020 and November 2019 respectively.
