The “K-Hospital Fair 2017” successfully kicked off its three-day event in Seoul Wednesday.

The fair, organized by the Korean Hospital Association (KHA) 대한병원협회, is an annual B2B medical industry exhibition and conferences with the participation of 200 medical and pharmaceutical companies running more than 400 booths.

Companies, such as GE Healthcare GE 헬스케어, Siemens Healthineers 지멘스 헬시니어스, Samsung Medison 삼성 메디슨, Toshiba Medical 도시바 메디칼, JW Medical JW 메디칼 and DK Medical DK 메디칼 will be exhibiting their products at the fair.

The fair is expected to attract more than 23,000 people this year, including medical professionals, and officials representing domestic and international medical associations, who will also participate in seminars and conferences.

One of the services the fair provides is the “Buy Medical” counseling, in which hospital purchase managers and participating companies meet with one another. The counseling matches hospitals that are planning renovation from 2018-2019 with perspective medical companies.

KHA also plans to invite hospitals and officials from countries with high growth potential such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and India and extend the purchase counseling service to them.

The guests will also visit various domestic medical establishments such as Seoul National University Bundang Hospital.

The fair will also hold 140 academic seminars for hospitals and related organizations.

“We hope that K-Hospital Fair 2017 will become a festival for hospitals and medical industries,” said Jung Young-jin 정영진, vice-chairman of KHA. “We also want to discuss sensitive issues such as telemedicine and for-profit hospitals during the event.”
