Databank Systems spins off healthcare business and establishes Lemon Health Care

Databank Systems is set to spin off its healthcare division and establish Lemon Healthcare, the company said Wednesday.

Lemon Healthcare레몬헬스케어 will take over all business organization and business rights of Databank Systems’ smart healthcare business division which has serviced M-care, a smart healthcare platform, the company said. M-care, a smartphone app, guides patients from booking appointments to payment during hospital visits.

Databank Systems CEO Hong Byeong-jin홍병진 will also serve as the CEO of the newly established company.

“Databank Systems plans to focus on sharpening competitiveness through business concentration and enhancing expertise and management efficiency with the spinoff of its smart healthcare business,” a company official said.

Lemon Healthcare plans to complete installing its M-Care service system in 30 hospitals, including large general hospitals, by the end of this year. Six hospitals, including Hanyang University Medical Center, Pusan National University Hospital, and Kyungpook National University Hospital, are already using the app.

“We are planning to sign a contract with large hospitals in the metropolitan area, known as the Big-5 Hospital,” he said. “We aim to become the leading company of smart healthcare service by also launching a system, which can send electronic prescriptions to pharmacies and file insurance claims, by the end of this year.”
