Hanmi Pharmaceuticals said Friday it plans to recruit 200 people in the second half of this year, to beef up workforce for search and development.

As investments in its biopharmaceutical plant in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, gets into full swing as a new bio-drug production base, Hanmi한미제약 (CEO Woo Jong-soo우종수 and Kwon Sae-chang권세창) will make most of the new recruitment in the biotechnology, R&D and the domestic business, company officials said.

The total number of employees of Hanmi Pharm Group will increase from 2,200 to 2,400, and the company will spend 15 percent of sales on R&D, investing in facilities to commercialize new drugs, they said.

To provide detailed information to applicants, Hanmi will hold a recruiting session every Saturday during the recruitment season on the second floor Park Hall, Songpa-gu, Seoul. It also will conduct recruitment workshops at 20 universities across the nation.

“Hanmi welcomes anyone who enjoys ‘paving the way for others’ in the spirit of creation and innovation," a company official said.

"Pharmaceutical biotechnology is a new growth engine that will lead the 4th industrial revolution,” he said. "We hope that many talented people will write the history of pharmaceutical powerhouses together with Hanmi."
