Philips Korea names Seo to head personal health business

Philips Korea has appointed Seo Hong-pyo as vice president to head its personal health business featuring general consumer goods, the company said Wednesday.

Seo서홍표, who had served in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) over the past two decades, is expected to take the lead in the growth of personal health business with rich experiences and innovative strategy, Philips Korea said in a press release. Seo joined Philips Korea on Aug. 7.

The new vice president had worked as the vice president of the multinational food company Haagen-Dazs/General Mills Korea since 2010, earning a reputation for steadily growing sales and profits and expanding its presence in Korea. Before that, he had accumulated a vast range of job competencies at P&G, a multinational consumer goods company for more than 10 years.

"The personal health division is helping consumers to enjoy a healthier and more active lifestyle with a variety of solutions,” said Domonique Oh, CEO of Philips Korea. "We expect that Seo, with his long experience in consumer-friendly industries, will further strengthen the competitiveness of the personal health sector with an in-depth understanding and inclusive leadership."

Seo also expressed high expectations. "I am delighted to have joined Philips with a vision to improve people's quality of life through meaningful innovation,”

I will try to strengthen partnerships with customers with high organizational power, to gain more confidence in consumers and to increase Philips vision, he added.
